Channel Brackets Made Easy

One of the fastest-selling lines we stock is Channel, as a key component used in MEP and HVAC installations. We also keep a wide variety of channel bracketry options which allow installers to create the robust channel support systems to meet their project needs.

Channel Brackets come in many types and sizes such as splice plates, angle brackets, z brackets, u brackets, flat brackets, beam clamps, bracing brackets to name just a few. It is the many variations of the humble channel bracket which allow installers to assemble almost any channel support system they can imagine.

There are also a number of different channel types, sizes and finishes available too, however in this blog we wanted to just focus on the often over looked channel brackets which can be over looked.

Types of Channel Brackets

Splice Plates

Splice Plates typically used to join several channel lengths together or to provide additional support. The longer the splice plate the greater the support provided.

Flat Brackets

Flat Brackets are a collection of channel bracket that are typically used to join several channel lengths together to form simple configurations such as right angles and cross sections, or to provide additional support.

Angle Brackets

Angle Brackets are ideal channel brackets to join 2 sections of channel at a cross point or form the desired angle. The brackets allow each channel length to be secured to a single point of contact.

  • 90° Brackets
  • 90° Brackets 2-Hole
  • 90° Brackets 3-Hole
  • 90° Brackets 4-Hole

  • Obtuse Angle Brackets
  • Adjustable Angle Brackets
  • Wing Brackets

Z Brackets

Z Brackets overlap the channel length being joined to form simple connections on one side of the connecting channel.

Z Bracket

  • Z Brackets 41×21
  • Z Brackets 41×41
  • Z Brackets Back to Back Channel

U Brackets

U Brackets overlap the channel length being joined from both sides for a more secure connection.

U Bracket

  • U Brackets 41×21
  • U Brackets 41×41
  • U Brackets Back to Back Channel

Joiners

Joiners either overlap (external joiner) or sit neatly inside (internal joiner) two channel lengths to provide a secure connection.

  • Internal Joiner (41×21 & 41×41)

Cantilever Arms

Cantilever Arms create 90° angle supports which are handy to create brackets or fix items directly on to building walls such as cable trays, pipework, rectangular ductwork or other HVAC equipment such as air conditioner units.

Beam Clamps

Beam Clamps are used to provide a secure fixing for channel to beams (girders). Window Beam Clamps provide an opening for the channel to fit into, whereas Toe and U Beam Clamps fix the channel directly to the beam.

  • U Bolt Beam Clamp (41×21 & 41×41)
  • U Bolt Beam Clamp (Back to Back Channel)
  • Z Beam Clamp (All Channel)
  • Internal Web Clamp 41×41

Base Plates

Base Plates create a handy ‘foot’ for channel to be fitted into to form a base for channel support frames.

  • Base Plates 100mm
  • Base Plates 200mm

Bracing Brackets

Gusseted Brackets Single or Double Socket can be used to provide a base for channel support frames. With Gusseted Bracing Brackets used to fix several lengths of channel to create right angle joints, or give additional support for frames joints.

Channel and Bracketry Fixings

In addition to channel and the brackets listed above, installers will also need a number of common fixings to create channel framing or support solutions.
  • Channel Nuts
  • Square Plates
  • Hex Set Screws
  • Hex Nuts
  • Studding
